I had a watch party with my crew to catch the White Lotus finale, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride from start to finish. I have some thoughts.
First off, Walton Goggins? He’s my new crush, no question. The guy is a powerhouse of an actor. I know I’m not the only one who’s attracted to Walton Goggins. I think the guy is just so magnetic on screen and really made the season for me. He owned his role as Rick. There’s this incredible depth to him. He’s got this mix of menace, vulnerability, and unpredictability. I was so sad to see him go. I wish there was a bigger moment between Rick and his dad, like a “Darth Vader-Luke” revelation, you know?
As for Chelsea, Aimee Lou Wood absolutely nailed it. She was quirky, pure, and just so genuine. From the start, I had a strong feeling she wasn’t going to make it, especially after she mentioned that “bad things happen in threes.” I kept thinking, “Ok, she’s one of them.” But man, I didn’t want to be right. I loved watching Rick and Chelsea together. They were a great duo. Chelsea’s innocence balanced out Rick’s chaos and I was genuinely invested in their storyline.
Now, let’s talk about the Ratliffs. I was frustrated that the story didn’t wrap up properly. The buildup with the husband screwing over his family was intense, and after all that, I was hoping Parker Posey’s character would at least yell at him when they got their phones back. It felt like an unfinished moment. We saw him trying to poison his family (how wild, right?), and there was so much weight around that whole situation. I really thought we’d get a confrontation, but Mike White left that up to interpretation
As for the three blonde friends? Honestly, their storyline was pretty boring to me. It felt like a filler plot that didn’t add much to the overall story.
I also liked seeing Belinda get the money she deserved. It was a satisfying moment for her character.
Overall, despite a few slow moments and a little disappointment with some storylines not being fully wrapped up, I enjoyed the season. I think Mike White has a knack for showing the dynamics between people, especially when it comes to the messiness of wealth, power, and human relationships
Can’t wait to see what happens next with The White Lotus—bring on the chaos.

Tallulah
